Spoon Theory is a metaphor created by Christine Miserandino to explain the limited energy available to people living with chronic illness. Each "spoon" represents a unit of energy. You start each day with a limited number of spoons, and every activity costs spoons. When you're out of spoons, you must rest.
Severe fatigue. Only essential activities possible. Be very gentle with yourself.
Limited energy. Prioritize only essential tasks. Rest between activities.
Manageable energy. Pace yourself throughout the day. Don't overdo it.
Feeling good! Make the most of today, but still listen to your body.
đ´ Pain Level: How much physical pain are you experiencing? (0=none, 10=severe)
đ´ Fatigue Level: How tired or exhausted do you feel? (0=energetic, 10=completely drained)
đĢī¸ Brain Fog: How much mental clarity do you have? (0=clear thinking, 10=can't focus at all)
You know your body best. Spoon Theory is a tool to help you communicate your energy levels and make informed decisions about your daily activities. There's no "right" number of spoons - every chronic illness warrior's experience is unique.
